यावत् स्थास्यन्ति गिरयः सरितश्च महीतले। तावत् रामायणकथा लोकेषु प्रचरिष्यति ।। .... means’ till there is hill /mountain on earth Ramayana will be there’
പൊട്ടക്കുളത്തിലെ തവളകളെ പോലെ താന് കണ്ടതു മാത്രം സത്യം എന്നു വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന മൂഢന്മാര് മുതല് പ്രപഞ്ചസത്യത്തെ സാക്ഷാല്കരിച്ച മഹാന്മാര് വരെ ഏവർക്കും മനസ്സിലാകാവുന്ന രീതിയില് ഈ ലോകത്തു ഒരു കാര്യവും എഴുതുവാൻ സാധിക്കില്ല. പക്ഷെ എഴുത്തിലെ context മനസ്സിലാക്കാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചാൽ രാമായണ കഥകള് അവനവന് മനസ്സിലാകുന്ന രീതിയില് പുനർവായനക്ക് scope ഉള്ളതാണ്. Because in stand-alone texts the context is woven into the text; while in evolving texts like Ramayana, repeated readings provide newer frameworks, backgrounds, and perspectives.
As for me the Ramayana’s perennial relevance lies in its power to inspire us (within one’s prevailing existential conditions) to broaden our consciousness from “me” to “we”.
Such a battle is always within in most of us !
